Meet Our Superintendent

 

 

Dear Deerfield Township Families,

I am excited and honored to introduce myself as the new Interim Superintendent of Schools for the Deerfield Township School District. From the moment I began learning about this district, it was clear to me that Deerfield is a special place where students, families, and staff truly care about one another. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of this community. I have been in education for 32 years and I utilize this experience as an educational leader. Both my wife and I are educators and we have 2 school age daughters. As a parent, educator, and a coach all of these experiences are valued in my decision making. One of the things you'll quickly learn about me is that I believe in being present and visible. I don't like leading from behind a desk. I enjoy spending time in the hallways, in our classrooms, talking with students, visiting with teachers, greeting families at school events, and seeing firsthand all the great things happening in our schools. I believe the best way to understand a school community is to be part of it. As I get to know Deerfield, my goal is simple: to listen, learn, and work alongside our staff and families to do what's best for our students. Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, challenged, and excited to come to school each day, and I am committed to helping make that happen. Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself when you see me around. I enjoy getting to know the people who make this district such a wonderful place. I'm excited about what we can accomplish together, and I look forward to a great school year filled with learning, growth, and opportunities for every student. Estimadas familias de Deerfield Township:

Es un honor y un placer presentarme como el nuevo Superintendente Interino de Escuelas del Distrito Escolar de Deerfield Township. Desde el momento en que comencé a conocer este distrito, quedó claro para mí que Deerfield es un lugar especial donde los estudiantes, las familias y el personal realmente se preocupan unos por otros. Agradezco la oportunidad de formar parte de esta comunidad. Llevo 32 años en el ámbito educativo y pongo esa experiencia al servicio de mi labor como líder educativo. Tanto mi esposa como yo somos educadores y tenemos dos hijas en edad escolar. Como padre, educador y entrenador, valoró todas estas experiencias al tomar decisiones. Algo que descubrirán rápidamente sobre mí es que creo en la importancia de estar presente y visible. No me gusta dirigir desde detrás de un escritorio; disfruto pasar tiempo en los pasillos y en las aulas, conversar con los estudiantes y maestros, saludar a las familias en los eventos escolares y ver de primera mano todas las cosas maravillosas que suceden en nuestras escuelas. Creo que la mejor manera de comprender una comunidad escolar es formando parte de ella. A medida que conozco Deerfield, mi objetivo es sencillo: escuchar, aprender y trabajar junto a nuestro personal y nuestras familias para hacer lo mejor para nuestros estudiantes. Cada niño merece sentirse seguro, apoyado, motivado a superar retos y entusiasmo por asistir a la escuela cada día, y estoy comprometido a ayudar a que esto suceda. Por favor, no duden en presentarse cuando me vean por ahí. Disfruto conocer a las personas que hacen de este distrito un lugar tan maravilloso. Gracias por darme la bienvenida a la familia de Deerfield Township. Me entusiasma lo que podemos lograr juntos y espero con interés un gran año escolar, lleno de aprendizaje, crecimiento y oportunidades para cada estudiante.
