Ronald McDonald House
Dear Students, Parents and Community Members:
Deerfield Township School joined the Pop Tab Collection Program in 2004 and will continue during the 2011-2012 school year. The money collected from the recycling of the tabs is used to operate the Ronald McDonald Houses of Camden, NJ (Cooper Hospital) and Philadelphia, PA (Children’s Hospital) for the wonderful services they provide to families of critically ill and traumatically injured children.
The Pop Tab Collection Program was established in 1987 by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Ronald McDonald House community. To date, over 400 million pop tabs have been collected, generating over $300,000.
Please feel free to collect tabs in bags or larger boxes. At the end of each week or each month, you may drop your tabs in the Deerfield Township School main office and we will see that they are equally distributed to the above houses.
On behalf of the Ronald McDonald Houses, thank you for your kindness, caring, and support.
Sincerely,
Deerfield Township School
DIRECTV4Schools™ - Contributing to a Brighter Future
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Friends of Deerfield Township School
I want to tell you about a fundraising program that can help raise the funds we need for the special programs, equipment, and events that enrich our students’ learning. Through the DIRECTV4Schools™ program, our school will receive a cash contribution for every new, existing or returning DIRECTV customer who commits to a year of DIRECTV satellite television service using our school code.
The DIRECTV4Schools program is simple. Just call 888-388-4724, use our school code _A1028_ and sign up for the DIRECTV service of your choice. Our school will receive $100 for each new customer who orders and activates DIRECTV service and $50 for existing or returning customers who extend their current commitment to DIRECTV for one year.
DIRECTV is the nation’s leading satellite television service provider, presenting the finest television experience available to more than 16 million customers in the United States through exclusive content, industry-leading customer satisfaction and superior technologies. Each day, DIRECTV subscribers enjoy access to more than 250 channels of 100% digital picture and sound, exclusive programming and the most comprehensive collection of sports programming available anywhere. DIRECTV also leads the digital television technology revolution and will soon have the capacity to offer more than 150 channels in HD.
Complete details about this special fundraiser are available at directv4schools.com. Last year, DIRECTV gave more than $1 million back to U.S. schools through this program. This year, you can help our school raise the funds we need.
Sincerely,
Edythe B. Austermuhl, Ed. D.

Study Island Program
An instructional and diagnostic tool that enables
teachers to help students master the state standards
and prepare for their state tests
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Deerfield Township School now has access to a great resource for improving students’ skills in math and language arts, as well as to assist preparation for the State mandated tests. We have purchased a school license for a web-based program called STUDY ISLAND, which is accessible to students from school or home. If you have Internet access, your child can access STUDY ISLAND from home as well as school to practice math and reading skills.
A sheet will be distributed to your child that gives an overview of the program as well as your child’s USER NAME/ LOGIN NAME and PASSWORD. We are very excited about the potential benefits this program can bring to all our students and we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity by using STUDY ISLAND at home. Please feel free to contact your child’s homeroom teacher, the Assistant Principal, Mrs. Galasso, myself, or Study Island at 1-800-419-3191 or support@studyisland.com if you have any questions.
Very truly yours,
Edythe B. Austermuhl, Ed. D.

Dear Parents and Guardians:
GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine, with a unique social mission... every time you use GoodSearch, money is generated for Deerfield Township Elementary School.
GoodSearch donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities selected by its users. The pennies quickly add up. For example, if 1,000 Deerfield Township Elementary School supporters searched just twice a day, we would receive an estimated $7,300 per year to help fund our program.
What's great is that you use GoodSearch just as you would any search engine. Again, it's powered by Yahoo!, so you get proven, high-quality results.
Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Deerfield Township Elementary School as the charity you want to support. The more people who use this site, the more money we'll earn so please spread the word! Thanks in advance for your support!
Very truly yours,
Edythe B. Austermuhl, Ed. D.
